Gala

Yesterday I went to the gala. As soon as I arrived I found Emma scoffing her mum's dumplings. Later we got some sweets and Emma accidentally won some hair gel. She insisted we give it to Leo so we hunted Leo down. We found him in the huge line at absailing and unfortunately we couldn't give him the hair gel. It was a very sad and disappointing moment. I sat down with my mum and watched the band for the rest of the gala. The Cotton candy was really good. 'Twas a good day. 👌🏼

The Learning Pit

 Last week we had to make balloon powered cars and Impossible Papers. Most of us were struggling and eventually falling in to the Learning Pit. What is the Learning Pit you ask? The Learning Pit is where we think and think and think. When we get out of the Learning Pit, We get that Eureka moment, Which means "I found it!" in greek.

You realise how hard it is and you get more and more frustrated, Then you find your way back up, and out of the learning pit. Eureka!

Holidays

In the holidays, I went to the Gold Coast in Australia with Emma. We went to all the theme parks, which were really fun. First we went to Sea World, And we saw some dolphins. Then a seagull flew by and tried to eat the fish out of the dolphin feeder's bag. We also got our photos taken with the dolphins, we were patting them. A few days later we went to Wet N' Wild and went on nearly all the slides. There was a wave pool as well which was really fun too. Then Emma went back to NZ so I went with my mum to movie world. We met Bat Man, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Marilyn Munroe, Dorothy from the wizard of oz, And the Looney Tunes.  

The Mind Lab

On Tuesday we all went to The Mind Lab. There was 3D printing, Cars, Scribble-Bots, Stop Motion animation, and Makey Makeys. We made the cars out of cardboard, discs, Motors, and other materials. My favorite was 3D printing because I made a little thing to mail to my friend in America. :-)

After we finished our 3D printing we got to do the Scribble-Bots, A cup with pens stuck to it, and a motor inside. It spins around drawing little patterns and lines. Then we went into the room where other people were doing Stop Motion and Makey Makeys. 

Teacher for a day

One normal day in Normal Street College School, everyone was studying Wumbology. Suddenly the teacher, Miss Snurfywurf, called everyone down to the mat. "Class, I have to tell you something." She said. All students came down to the mat making thump noises as they sat down. "What's wrong, Miss Snurfywurf?" asked Piggy Porkalot, the best student. "I-" Miss Snurfywurf was interrupted by Miss Woonie walking in and slamming in the door. She was holding a very small horse that looked like it wanted to kill everyone. The class all looked at her weirdly. "Sorry." She said power walking to her office with the angry horse. "k" Miss Snurfywurf carried on. "I'm actually a wizard." A bunch of sparkles appeared and she turned into a wizard.

The class gasped. "wow!" screamed Baldness McDee in wonder. Miss Snurfywurf was showing off her wand like a vein Justin Bieber. McPoops Bubkins, who was very mischievous walked up to Miss Snurfywurf and touched her wand. "No wait-" She exclaimed. Everyone turned into ugly goblins and they all fainted. "Oh no!" screamed Miss woonie in horror. "We have to fix this!" shouted Miss Snurfywurf like a woobiedoo.

Miss Woonie got on top of Miss Snurfywurf and Miss Snurfywurf blasted off into the sunset. Suddenly they were in space. "Where is Mary Lee the unicorn?" questioned Miss Woonie. Obviously they needed to find Mary Lee so she could turn the filthy goblins back into filthy children. "Mary Leeeeeeeeee..." They heard an echo in the distance. "I think it came from over there." Miss Snurfywurf said pointing. "Mary Leeeeeeeeee.." Whispered Mary Lee. That was all she really said, because she loved herself. The two teachers convinced Mary Lee the unicorn to heal the children.

"AOOAHHHHHAOOOOOOOOAHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHAA." Mary Lee sang in her magical healing voice. All the children turned back into humans except Leo because he was already an ugly goblin. "wow" screamed Baldness McDee in wonder.

A Trip Around Planet Earth

"GO TO YOUR ROOM BELINDA" My Ugly Mumface yelled. I hate my Mumface, she's so annoying. I sat down and looked in my mirror. I look exactly the same as all the females on my planet. It's getting tiring. My planet's species, Lipscat, is only female. I wish I could run away from all of this, go to a new planet.. Then it hit me. I packed my bags, and all my favorite lipstick colours, and all my jewelry then flew out the window.

I flapped my tentacles as hard as I could, to look for other planets. The blue and green one caught my eye. It was so pretty, and it was my favorite colour. I flew straight down to it and landed in a strange home looking place. An ugly looking fleshy boy looked at me. 

"I'm Jayden, Lets get married" said the boy. "Oh okay." I said.

The next day we got married and I invited my beautiful friend, Talula Von Cong Don Doof.

I saw another ugly fleshy boy. He was staring at Talula oddly, and wet stuff was coming out of his mouth. 

Talula looked at him, and he said "You are very hot." "Okay." Talula said. "I'm Leo" he said. "Lets get married" he says. I then proceeded to stuff Jayden into my mouth then I flew away. This planet is so strange.   

After a few days, I stole a fleshy person's home and made glubgoglflwosjdmdme. My favorite food. Suddenly something burst through the roof. It was my Mumface. "GET BACK HOME IMMEDIATELY" she demanded. "no." I said. She leaned over and slapped my hand. "Now." She said in a serious voice. "no." I said even more seriously. "Fine." Mumface said with a snob face and flew away. I sat on the ground and ate my glubgoglflwosjdmdme. I flew out the hole mumface made in the roof and ate a fleshy person who was walking.

This planet is getting boring. I heard of another planet called Uranus, it sounds very interesting.

I flew into the sky to make my next trip.

GRi11 explanation

How Learning In GRi11 Works

GRi11 is a class at college street normal school that contains 60 children and 2 amazing teachers.

We use lots of technology, that includes: Laptops and iPads. We use a Fast Track to put our work into, then the teachers can see that we have finished.

GRi11 manages their own learning with Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, etc. The teachers have trust in us to do things when we want. The only deadline for our work is basically Friday.

Our room is very colourful, and we can sit wherever we want. We have bean bags, chairs, ottomans, and cushions, and especially the floor! There are workshops where you can work on something you're not so sure about, there's planners so you know what you're doing and when you have reading groups.

GRi11 is fun and lively, and we always try our best and go for gold.

Finish this story

He kept swimming and swimming, for what felt like ages. He was very good at holding his breathe. He saw something glowing at the bottom. Had he found what he was looking for? He couldn't hold his breathe any longer. Eventually he passed out. (He didn't die)

He woke up to see something staring at him. It looked like some sort of scaly fish lady.

He ignored her and pushed her out of the way, "WHERE IS IT" he yelled in a panicy voice. The lady tilted her head as if she didn't  understand. He turned around and realized the fish lady was there. He looked at her funny. "What are you..?" He said. "Gluggllglgjtjgitjgbhbbuuhuhuhksklglug." She said, obviously she didn't speak english but somehow he understood her. "Oh." He said. "I'm Carrot." She smiled at Carrot with her big fish lips. "I'm just gonna call you Glug." There was silence for a moment. Carrot then remembered, "Do you know where it is??" Glug tilted her head again, confused. "The treasure I'm looking for." Carrot told her. "It's the rarest treasure in the world. It's worth billions of dollars." Glug pulled a face as if she was trying to think or remember something.

"Gluglgulbuug!" She said. "You know where it is?" Carrot asked. "Glug!" Glug said as she lead Carrot through a tunnel in the corner. They walked and walked through the dark tunnel. Glug stopped. Carrot turned around and looked at Glug. She looked like she was drying out. "Agh I need water!! Ahh! Ahh!" Carrot yelled looking around in frustration. He reached into his pocket and pulled pulled out his water bottle. He squirted it all over her and she went back to normal. 

"Glug!" She said and they carried on walking.

They saw a bright light. This meant they must be at the end of the tunnel. Carrot saw the treasure chest. "Yes!!" He immediately ran over to it and opened it with excitement. He pulled out the treasure. "Yes.. The new flavor of doritos." He said holding up the packet. "CARROT FLAVOR!" He yelled. 

Then an evil villain named Jaime burst through the stone roof and yelled "ITS MIIIIIIIIINE" she killed Carrot and he fell to the ground dropping the doritos. Jaime swiftly picked it up, and looked at Glug. "( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" Jaime said and quickly jumped out the hole she made in the roof.

"Oh." Glug said, and walked away. 

Cross Country Narrative

"BOB! Wake up!!" I heard someone screaming in my ear. "Where am I, Giraffe?" I questioned as I felt the ground. It felt like tarpaulin. "We're at cross country." Giraffe said with a sigh. "Oh no." I whispered. I heard Miss Wumpus calling everyone over to the finish. I magically floated over.

"Alright so you gotta run like a lunatic all the way around this farm. Got it?" Miss Wumpus explained. "Yes, Miss Wumpus." Nearly everyone said. "Ready.." Mr Moo began. I felt my heart pounding. "Set.." "GO!" Mr Moo shouted then he exploded. Everyone ran up the hill. I tried with all my might. 

5 minutes of running pasted. We were over the hill. I saw my arch nemesis Poopsy run past me with an evil look. I frowned at him. I got so angry that I just decided to float above everyone and fly to the finish. Poopsy looked up at me in surprise. He grabbed my foot angrily and tried to pull me down. I looked at him and kicked him off. He landed in a magical puddle of unicorn tears, and he turned into Justin Bieber. Everyone was disgusted as they ran past and began to run faster.

As I was floated in the air, I could hear something. I could hear parents. That meant something. That meant finish line. I looked behind me and realised that I was coming first. I looked back at the parents and flew faster and faster. I zoomed past the finish line whilst all parents were screaming like 1D fangirls.

As I waited for everyone to finish, I saw Giraffe. "Good job, Bob. I didn't know you could float that fast." He said. "Neither did I." I said huffing. I turned around and saw Miss Wumpus. "Well done." She said as she threw a giant medal at me.

I lifted up the medal off my body slowly, and thanked her. I watched as everyone came past the finish line. After a while I saw Poopsy, AKA Justin Bieber limping over the finish line. "Hey, Poopsy!!" I shouted. "What." He said in his girly JB voice. I threw a cookie at him and he exploded. Everyone cheered.

I guess Cross Country isn't as bad at all.
